My style and experience
My style is to be very transparent. From a foundation of humility, compassion, and nonjudgment, I will consistently give you direct feedback and stay committed to both achieving your goals and respecting your autonomy.
If you're curious about working with me but are unsure if I can be helpful, I welcome you to call me so we can talk through it. I can be helpful with a broad range of issues and work with people age 16 and up.
I have been providing psychotherapy since 2014, and most of my experience has been with people who are still deeply suffering despite having tried multiple types of therapy and a variety of different medications. I have meaningful training in a number of evidence-based therapies, and I want to emphasize that I understand that the specific brand of therapy matters less than making sure that I help create a relationship that feels safe and rewarding, that helps you stay willing to do the hard work of achieving your goals, and that creates a shared understanding of how we will work towards those goals.
Some of my additional experience includes having led a team of clinical social workers at Ascension Seton that helped people navigate the often very confusing mental health system, and participation in research on the use of motivational interviewing for people with both substance use and serious mental illness. I am committed to providing excellent care through ongoing training and education, and I am currently getting a second master’s degree to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
